He is National Board Certified (2004 & 2016) in music education with vocal emphasis, and has earned Chorister Guild Certification in Choral Sacred Music (2017).

Currently, Mr. Brown is also the Associate Director of the Appalachian Children’s Chorus, and soon will be its new Artistic Director.  The Appalachian Children’s Chorus is recognized as WV’s official children’s choir.  Other past choirs Mr. Brown has directed include: The Choir School of St. Peters (Town Choir), the Young Voices of the Carolinas (Young Men’s Voices), and several church choirs from children to adult.

Mr. Brown is always looking for life changing musical events for his students. In the past his students have been able to perform the National Anthem at a NBA/ NFL game, and other minor league games. His choirs have also performed at national and state conventions. Individually, his past students have auditioned and made local, state, regional, and national honor choirs getting to travel to places like Salt Lake City, UT, and Minneapolis, MN.

Mr. Brown strongly believes music has the ability to change lives, and has seen it happen many times over.
