Bio: My name is Mary Gilkerson and I am the Art teacher at Horace Mann Middle School. I love creating and teaching art to my students. Many students can be intimidated by art. I feel it is my job to show them that they can be successful creatively and show them that learning about art can be fun.
I am a graduate of West Virginia State University with a degree in Art Education.
I have taught elementary art, middle school art, and I was a preschool teacher for 14 years.
In my free time I like to paint, craft, and turn "trash" into treasure. I have 2 sons that I am very proud of and a beautiful granddaughter that is the light of my life.
